Gone are the times Hip Hop’s biggest stars would come together as a solid unit, uniting their fanbase for world domination. No fear though, because New York legends Al Skratch and Blahzay have joined forces to form the supergroup the game’s been missing, GOB (Get On Board)! Racking up over 7 Million total streams and 100,000+ combined Spotify listeners monthly, it’s clear the world still wants to hear music with substance, quality and knowledge in the form of sounds provided by Al Skratch and Blahzay.

The duo originally met in the 90’s as labelmates at Mercury Records. From then on they would go on to do their own thing, before coming together as GOB 2 decades later.  Blahzay (formerly MC Outloud) of the Brooklyn duo, Blahzay Blahzay is most widely known for his stellar  lyricism 1995’s breakout single, “Danger” (The East is in the House, Oh My God! via Mercury Records). He began his career touring with Notorious B.I.G. and DJ Mister Cee, before getting signed to Mercury Records as Blahzay Blahzay’s lyrical talent. Upon separating from Mercury, Blahzay released ‘Federal Reserve Notez in 1999. Subsequently going on to collaborate with fellow Brooklyn MCs General Steele (Smif-N-Wessun), Uncle Murda (G-Unit), Lil’ Fame (M.O.P) and Ol’ Dirty Bastard (Wu-Tang). Throughout the years, Blahzay also collaborated with the enormously popular supergroup Thaitanium (of Thailand) and other international MCs.

In addition to his many accolades, Blahzay worked with Sony to release “When We In The House” for the “The Sitter” soundtrack, starring Jonah Hill. Most recently Blahzay Blahzay released it’s sophomore album, ‘ENYthyng Iz Possible’ (Smoke On Records: 2018). The critically acclaimed project was entirely written by Blahzay and mixed by PF Cuttin, with Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum producer Avenue Beatz handling production.  ‘ENYthyng Iz Possible’ features stand out performances by Blahzay, as well as Ol’ Dirty BastardGrand Puba (Brand Nubian) and Sizzla.

Al Skratch from the New York rap duo Ill Al Skratch is known for the 1994 hits “Where My Homiez?” and “I’ll Take Her,” featuring Brian McKnight. The Bed-Stuy born, Harlem-raised artist began his career as a DJ (hence the name “Al Skratch”) before finding his niche behind the mic. From then on, Al Skratch joined forces with Brooklyn MC, Big Ill, forming the legendary NY rap duo, Ill Al Skratch.  After signing to Mercury Records in the 90’s, Ill Al Skratch released 2 albums: Creep Wit’ Me(1994) and Keep It Movin’ (1997). The duo has had an undeniable and long-lasting influence on Hip Hop, as evidenced by lyrical shout outs from NasNotorious B.I.G.,Styles P, Jim Jones and more. Throughout his career, the multi-talented Al Skratch also collaborated with Michael JacksonBusta RhymesRedman and Rock (Heltah Skeltah),  just to name a few. Al Skratch’s pioneering melodic rhyming style – combining rapping with singing – has contributed to contemporary rap music’s sound, popularized by rappers Future and Migos.

Since coming together this past July, GOB has been ripping stages, performing live for thousands of fans at venues throughout the US and abroad. Most notably the supergroup had sets at Video Music Box’s 35th Anniversary, plus Wu-Tang’s ODB Tribute Show and Red Alert’s Birthday. In addition to having their hand in Hip Hop’s history, GOB is very active in their community, partnering and contributing to causes such as Legion of the GoodwillYWCA/YMCACops vs. Kids DJ Battle and Freedom of Truth.

Right now Al Skratch and Blahzay are working on new music with Avenue Beatz, who has worked with numerous Hip Hop heavy-hitters, including DrakeLil Wayne,Swizz Beatz and Snoop Dogg. Aside from recently returning from touring in South America, the group will set out on the road once again soon, showcasing Hip Hop’s global influence and power to shift cultures, one dope track at a time.
