Cara O’Neal is a singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer, and teacher. Born and raised in the Houston, Texas area, Cara has performed in various singing competitions as well as corporate events. As one of the lead singers of the R&B girl-group TrulyUnique, Cara is becoming a standout performer as a solo artist.
After releasing the TrulyUnique critically acclaimed song, “Hair In The Wind”, she has widely released her single “Heartbeat”.
Cara is truly unique. She is aspiring to bring back the old school sound with a new school vibe. Her creative visions can be heard in the lyrics of her music. Her love for people drives her to create that sound that everyone can enjoy. Her idealism is emphasized by the principle, “Find a reason to keep going and live your life…you only get one.” In her spare time, Cara loves spending time with her family and friends, drawing, writing, dancing, and cooking. During her collegiate freshman year, she won The Apollo at Prairie View A&M University talent competition. Cara’s winning performance was Roberta Flack/The Fugees and Lauryn Hill’s version of “Killing Me Softly”. Other solo performances include “I Am Not My Hair” by India.Arie during the PV Girls Rock event and “Come With Me” by Sammy during the PV Showcase.
Her musical passion is fueled by such artists as Aaliyah, Diana Ross, Lauryn Hill, Shirley Murdock, India Arie, Chris Brown, Sevyn Streeter, Jhene Aiko, Tupac, Nipsey Hussle, Michael Jackson, and Mya just to name a few.
