Colin Kaepernick was alone in his early protests which began as silent protests to show support for people of color who are being oppressed in the United States, and to take a stand against police brutality. In an Exclusive with GQ magazine who names him as their Citizen Of The Year the magazine pays tribute to his efforts and compares him to other great sports activists “He’s been vilified by millions and locked out of the NFL—all because he took a knee to protest police brutality. But Colin Kaepernick’s determined stand puts him in rare company in sports history: Muhammad Ali, Jackie Robinson—athletes who risked everything to make a difference”.
He indeed has risked alot. He continues to give his thoughts on the (in) justice in the U.S.A in a post showing support for rapper Meek Mill who was recently sentenced to 2- 4 years on a violation. According to CNN, Meek Mill was arrested for popping wheelies on his dirt bike and for getting into a fight earlier this year, and now the rapper could spend two to four years in state prison because those arrests violated his probation from a 2008 gun and drug case.
