Los Angeles County Tells Labs to Test for New Strain of COVID-19

Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said last week a public health laboratory has started gene sequencing of virus samples collected in the county to determine if the strain is spreading locally. The new strain is believed to be more contagious than the current strain.
