QUEL is a rapper hailing from San Diego, California. Initially only a casual fan of hip hop/rap music, he became fully engrossed in the genre after becoming inspired by the music of Kanye West and several others. After honing his writing skills in high school, he first started rapping at the age of 18 during his freshman year of college at UCSB.
His biggest musical influences are Kanye West, Nas, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar, but considers everything he listens to as influential. He released his first ever project, an EP titled ¨Grace Period” earlier this year on all available streaming platforms.
